The Break-Up Rules
SEASON TWO – EPISODE ONE; “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”: New season, and we’re back to Carrie’s life. “When you live on a tiny island like Manhattan… the odds of bumping into the one who broke your heart are incredibly high. The odds of bumping into him when you look like shit are even higher.”. After her break up with Big, Carrie has decided to live her life as a hostage in her own apartment, trying to avoid even the slightest possibility to meet the man who’s broken her heart. That’s after experiencing something like a optical illusion, a vision of Big in the streets of Manhattan.
Even though she isn’t in her most fashionable outfit (jeans, camo green t-shirt and a furry coat isn’t the best choice for an outfit), she is still running away from Big’s mirage in her high heeled, slip on red shoes. Am I the only one astounded by how Carrie can run even on the highest of heels?!
After a month of segregation, Miranda and Chralotte force her out of her comfort place and take her to the ballgame. She doesn’t miss the chance to sport a great outfit, you never know you could meet your ex boyfriend at the stadium.
What Carrie enjoyed about the game was the possibility of drinking beer and smoke without being judged. But all the drinking, well… made her drunk! The new drunk Carrie asks “The new Yankee” out to the Dolce & Gabbana party, showing him off while trying to forget Big. They keep dating each other and Carrie starts to realise that she can be happy without Mr. Big. “Break-up rule number four: Never stop thinking about him even for a moment… because that’s the moment he’ll appear.” says the voice over, interrupting Carrie’s playful time with Joe. Big comes over to her and messes up her feelings once again. With this unexpected encounter, Carrie understands her ex boyfriend hasn’t left her life yet, so she asks “The new Yankee” to leave.
Final break-up rule and, by far, the best and truest: “No matter who broke your heart or how long it takes to heal… you’ll never get through it without your friends.”
FASHION BONUS: To the Dolce & Gabbana party, Carrie shows off her dreamiest dress. A long light blue dress, tied behind her neck, and hugging her figure to make her look prettier than ever. To accessorize, she wears her famous “Carrie” necklace and a medium-small lilac clutch.
To end the post, I report here what has been said about the dress… and I couldn’t agree more!
Mr. Big: “I saw your picture in the paper. You never looked better.”
Samantha: “That dress just paid for itself. Big is gonna see this and die”
